Summer TBR | 2017

Summer 2017 is nearly here and it's time to talk about my summer reading plans. Summer is one of my favourite seasons for reading and I can't wait to sit out on my deck and just read. I have lots of different books I want to read this summer so let's get to them.

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas - I am next in line for this one at my library and I am super anxious to read it. It will likely be my first read this summer
The Female of the Species by Mindy McGinnis - I almost read this one while I was on vacation recently I didn't get to it then so it will be a summer read
Frost Like Night by Sara Raasch - I have had this one too long! I really loved the first 2 books in the series and would love to finish it off very soon.

The Well of Ascension by Brandon Sanderson - I almost picked this up but ACOWAR came out and I am still stuck in the middle of it. This is sitting on my bedside table ready to go.
Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo - I have had this series forever and I want to read it before jumping into Six of Crows. Hopefully this summer will be it's time.
Of Fire and Stars by Audrey Coulhurst - This was another one that I almost picked up while on vacation but didn't get the chance. Summer will be it's time.

The Winner's Crime by Marie Rutkoski - Summer is a great time to get through some sequels. I read The Winner's Cruse last summer so it's time to pick up the next one
Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas - I have been trying to catch up in this series but it has gotten lots of mixed reviews lately. But I am curious to see what is going here.
The House of Hades by Rick Riordan - In my quest to finish this series by the end of the year, I need to read the next one in the series to keep on track.

These are the books at the top of my list. However, knowing myself I will be lucky to read half of them. I am terrible at sticking to TBR's, but it doesn't bother me as long as I am still reading.
What do you want to read this summer? Let me know.

Summer TBR | 2016

Summer is a fantastic time of the year, the time of the year that I try to read a lot. At this current moment, I should have plenty of time to read! My favourite place to read is outside in the sun so as long as the sun is shining I will have a book in my hand. Here are the books that I want to read this summer. I am highly likely to change my mind but at the moment this is the plan.

The Bazaar of Bad Dreams by Stephen King
The Heart of Betrayal by Mary E. Pearson
The Well of Ascension by Brandon Sanderson
Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas

Lost Stars by Claudia Gray
The Son of Neptune by Rick Riordan
The Winner's Curse by Marie Rutkoski
Secondhand Souls by Christopher Moore

These are my goals for the summer. I hope I read more than 8 books in a 3 month period but I want to have plenty of room to read what I want. I am a mood reader more than anything so it's always hard for me to follow plans. But this is the current plan!

What are you planning to read this summer? Have you read any of these? Let me know what you think.

Ho-Ho-Ho Readaton TBR

Ho-Ho-Ho Read-a-thon

Christmas is coming early in the blogosphere this year. The Ho-Ho-Ho Read-a-thon is being hosted by Kimberly @ Caffinated Book Reviewer and Jennifer @ BookShelfery. The read-a-thon runs from Nov. 12 - 17 and we will be reading Christmas or Wintery Reads.

What I Will Be Reading:

My True Love Gave To Me: 12 Holiday Stories (Various Authors)
Snowflakes on Silver Cove by Holly Martin

For this readathon I decided to grab a popular holiday novel from last year. My True Love Gave to Me was everywhere and I thought this would the perfect time to jump into it. I think this one would be a good pick for a readathon because it's a collection of short holiday stories so there will always be something different to read. My second choice is a Netgalley grab that looks absolutely adorable. I have been craving romance and Christmas can be a super romantic time.

It's unlikely I'll get through both these books but I will do the best I can. The motivation from everyone else will likely keep me reading. If you are participating in this readathon let me know what you are reading and I hope you have a fantastic time!

UPDATES
November. 12/15 {Day 1} - I read 30% of My True Love Gave to Me. Which is the first 4 stories in the bind up. I loved the first one, I didn't understand the second one at all and the 3rd and 4th were pretty good. They are all kind of bittersweet, which is making me kind of sad. Not what I expected out of Holiday stories.
